RE-BRANDED !!!

Yes ! You heard it right. Students In Free Enterprise, the international organisation which leverages entrepreneurial power to bring about a social change, is now Enactus -  Entrepreneurship in Action.

Having already created posters and videos and having used the social networking platform, we decided to now move from virtual to actual. The best way to realise this goal was to organise a three day rebranding fest in SRCC with a Project Corner -showcasing our projects , our journey and a competitive event - Think Out Of The Box which tested students' creativity and intellect.

The Project Corner was a visual treat for the audience. A colourful display of five sections - namely Project Aahaar, Project Azmat, Project Life On Wheels, Project Kayakalp and International Relations was set up. The stage was complete with pointers and explanatory placards. Aahaar manifested its  dual aims of uplifting  exploited women and imparting to them culinary training in a commendable manner. Azmat’s display attracted all with its village scene model, complete with a ‘Welcome to Nekpur’ sign post. Project Life On Wheels  was presented by  its business model by connecting it as a board game wherein the rickshaw pullers who repay in time climb ladders and move ahead and the ones lacking to repay the loans go back to the bank. The Kayakalp corner displayed a theatrical theme with a laptop screen decorated like a stage with curtains in which a puppet show video was playing. The corner was made attractive by placing hand crafted puppets, Bundraku puppet and big masks around it. International relations comprised a showcase of our partnerships with Enactus UWA and the C2P Foundation.

The timeline was meant to describe the team’s major achievements and milestones accomplished since its inception in 2007 when the team size was only ten . After this came Amba Studio which was reorganised by applying acquired business and economic concepts and in 2008 the team grew to 15 members. Slowly and steadily, the various projects were ideated and defined. With the  ushering in of 2013, Enactus SRCC has  four successfully operating domestic projects and two international ventures, UWA and C2P case Grant Competition. The fraternity has come a long way from being a new kid on the block in 2007 to firing on all cylinders with the beginning of 2013.

As an extension of the Project Corner, a Photo Booth also was set up. This was designed to allow passerby students and teachers alike to let themselves clicked with the timeline, the frill decorated rickshaw of LOW and the big masks from Kayakalp.

The Think Out of the Box event was structured for the fun loving, adventurous and experimenting creative minds who had to create a product and describe its feasibility, subject to the given case study. To craft the product, they were given five boxes each separately pertaining to the four projects and one termed ‘Miscellaneous’ with newspaper, glue, cardboard and scissors as its contents. The participants hit the ceiling with their vibrant ideas and quirky bent of mind.

One dearly attached Enactus  member said, “Rebranding came and went in a jiffy. Leaving everybody hung over with the excitement and joy of  being able to showcase the project milestones and be proud of explaining to the public that SIFE is now Enactus . What  we do at Enactus . What difference we make by doing our bit. What we feel when we hear our inner conscience applauding more than the exhilarating cheering of the audience. How we made SIFE  into Enactus and what Enactus has made us.” It truly was an unforgettable event in the Enactus SRCC calendar.
